Design and Development of an IoT Based Intelligent Controller for Smart Irrigation
Original Research
Internet of Things (IoT) is a rapidly developing area in the world because users can enormously benefit from real-time monitoring and controlling of remotely located devices over the internet, without being physically present at the location of the device. In the field of agriculture, development of efficient IoT based smart irrigation systems are similarly a valuable requirement for farmers, because they can remotely monitor crops and remotely control parameters in the field such as water supply to plants and collect data for further research purposes. In this research, a low cost IoT and weather based intelligent controller system is developed. First, an efficient drip irrigation system which can automatically control the water supply to plants based on soil moisture conditions is developed. This system brings greater benefits in terms of saving water, compared to traditional pre-scheduled watering systems. Next, this water efficient irrigation system is given IoT based communication capabilities to remotely monitor soil moisture conditions and to manually control water supply by a remote user with different features. Further, temperature, humidity and rain drop sensors are integrated to the system and is upgraded to provide monitoring of these parameters by the remote user via internet. These weather parameters of the field are saved in real time in a remote database. Finally, a weather prediction algorithm is implemented to control the water supply according to the existing weather condition. The proposed IoT based intelligent controller system will provide an effective method to irrigate farmer¡¯s cultivation.

Study on Voltage Characteristics of Distributed Power Supply Connected to Distribution Network
Original Research
With the rapid development of the world economy, the problem of energy crisis and environmental pollution is increasingly prominent. The traditional power generation mode not only consumes a lot of energy, but also causes a lot of pollution. Although distributed power supply brings benefits to people, due to the randomness and volatility of distributed power supply and the lack of unified grid-connected management system, the access of a large number of distributed power supply seriously affects the static voltage stability in the grid-connected area, resulting in voltage fluctuations, such as frequent high-voltage problems. Therefore, simulation research based on Matlab/Simulink platform is conducted in this paper. By changing the capacity and position of the distributed power supply connected to the distribution network, the optimal position and capacity of the distributed power supply connected to the distribution network are sought, so that the voltage on the distribution network is relatively stable at this time.

Principle of Coherence Optical Systems-Current Applications and Future Challenges
Original Research
This paper reviews the concept of coherent optical systems as future digital optical communication systems having capacity of achieving 100Gbps speed. While the transmission capacity increases in wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) system, coherent technologies have been in large interest in recent years. The interest lies in finding methods of increasing the bandwidth demand with multilevel modulation formats based on coherent technologies. We also discuss about requirements and challenges in implementation of respective digital receivers and associated signal processing.

Is the Online Internet Streaming Going to Kill TV/Cable by 2025?
Original Research
Once TV was a medium through which people get entertained but nowadays everybody is using online streaming and live video. The demand for TV which brings some characters and their stories to the audience would never go down. People following a particular show would always wait eagerly to know what would happen next. Just now the scenario has changed in such a way that technology helps the mass to view their favorite shows according to the time they wish to watch them.
